How does TAC work? TAC consists of special granules that cause magnesium, calcium and bicarbonates to turn into small crystals. Once they merge, these crystals are detached from the TAC and released into the water. However, they are now quite large in size and are swept away by the impetus of water, ending up in the drainage instead of your appliances or pipes.

The OneFlow® OFTWH-R-22 central water softener from the American company WATTS features next-generation technology that, unlike conventional softeners, does not require electricity to operate and does not exchange ions in the water. It uses an environmentally friendly technology called T.A.C. (Template Assisted Crystallization).

How TAC works

How does TAC work?

TAC consists of special granules that cause magnesium, calcium, and bicarbonates to combine into small crystals. Once combined, these crystals detach from the TAC and circulate freely in the water. However, they are now large enough to be swept away by the water flow, resulting in them being flushed away rather than sticking to your appliances or pipes.

It does not soften the water but prevents scale from depositing on your pipes and appliances. This is achieved by transforming dissolved hardness minerals into harmless and inactive microscopic particles. It is installed at the main water supply of the house and can protect and extend the life of all household appliances (water heaters, boilers, kettles, dishwashers, washing machines, etc.).


Why is scale harmful to plumbing and appliances?

  • Over time, scale builds up in pipes, especially in bends. This reduces the internal diameter of the pipes, reducing the water flow throughout the house.
  • When scale forms on valves and plumbing components, their failure can be dangerous for the entire household.
  • The efficiency of water heaters, boilers, and burners is reduced, leading to increased operational costs and higher maintenance expenses.
  • Over time, scale hardens and is not easily dissolved, which can lead to significant repair and restoration costs for a home's plumbing system.

  • The OFTWH-RM-R replacement filter should be replaced at least every 2 years, depending on water hardness.
  • It cannot be washed with water.

The difference between OneFlow® and traditional softeners:

Traditional Softener WATTS OneFlow®
Exchanges magnesium and calcium ions with sodium and potassium. This softens the water. The OneFlow® system does not exchange ions nor add chemicals to the water. It "collects" the scale into small balls that cannot settle on your appliances.
Requires electricity to regenerate the resin, which is the material that descalifies the water. Does not require electricity.
Requires regular monitoring and maintenance (e.g., adjusting the head, refilling salt, etc.). Requires nothing!
Needs coarse salt, which it uses to rinse the resin for regeneration. You only need to replace the filter cartridge once every two years.
Discharges a lot of water, excess salt, and resin into the drainage system during the regeneration process. Does not discharge any water into the drain, making it the most ECOLOGICAL solution.
Requires a lot of space and a connection to power and drainage. It is much smaller than a traditional softener, so it can be installed in smaller spaces.

  • Manganese: up to 0.05 mg/L
  • Copper: 1.3 ppm. High levels of copper damage the TAC material used by OneFlow®. If you have new copper installations, the OneFlow® must be installed one month later to remove initial copper ions.
  • Oil & H2S: Must be completely removed before passing through OneFlow.
  • Polyphosphates: < 3.0 mg/l
  • Silicate (maximum): 20 ppm
  • Conductivity: 1500 mg/l

Έκανα αγορά πρώτη φορά τον Αύγουστο 2023 το νέας γενιάς Watts OneFlow καθώς είμαι σε νησί έχω γεώτρηση και αντιμετωπίζω μεγάλο πρόβλημα με τα άλατα και είπα να το δοκιμάσω.Σήμερα μετά από ένα χρόνο χρήσης έκανα αγορά και δεύτερου φίλτρου καθότι είδα μεγάλη διαφορά και η λειτουργία του είναι φανταστική πλέον τα άλατα δεν κολλάνε στις βρύσες και γενικά καθαρίζονται πολύ εύκολα.Όσο δεν για την εταιρεία άψογοι με πολύ σεβασμό στο πελάτη με αμεσότητα στο πρόβλημα που τους αναθέτεις προσφέροντας την καλύτερη δυνατή λύση!!!

Άριστη εξυπηρέτηση και πολύ καλή ανάλυση του προϊόντος τα παιδιά επέμεναν στα λεγόμενα τους να δουν ότι το είχα καταλάβει σωστά . Πολλά μπράβο για την υπομονή τους . Σαν προϊόν θα καταλάβω ότι κάνει τη δουλειά του μετά από καιρό και θα επανέλθω για τώρα είμαι ευχαριστημένος από την εξυπηρέτηση .

Το έχω εγκαταστήσει εδώ κ μια εβδομάδα. Θα ξανά γράψω αφού δουλέψει αρκετά και δω αποτελέσματα. Προς το είναι νωρίς κ δεν έχω άποψη. Η μόνη άποψη που έχω είναι οι δικές σας Κριτικές γιαυτο κ δε βάζω 5 αστεράκια. Θα επανέλθω σύντομα

Και επανέρχομαι μετά από σχεδόν 1 χρόνο χρήσης για να βάλω 10 αστέρια όχι μόνο 5!!! Ειναι εκληπτικο πόσο εύκολη έγινε η καθημερινή οικιακή καθαριότητα. Όλα ειναι ακόμα καινούργια και αστραφτερά!

Πολύ τίμιο για τα χρήματά του, κάνει αυτό ακριβώς που υπόσχεται... προστατεύει το σπίτι μας από τα άλατα, χωρίς να χρειάζεται επίβλεψη και ξεχωριστό χώρο να στεγαστεί. Άψογο!

Από το να αγοράζουμε κάθε 2 χρόνια καινούριες βρύσες, πλυντήρια και να αλλάζουμε το μπόιλερ του ηλιακού σκεφτήκαμε να επενδύσουμε σε αυτό το one flow και όπως φαίνεται δικαιωθήκαμε γιατί δεν αφήνει ίχνη πουθενά. Ελπίζω να συνεχίσει να δουλεύει έτσι και στο πέρασμα του χρόνου. Βάζω 4 αστέρια γιατί το 5 θα του το χαρίσω σε βάθος χρόνου.

Το βάλαμε σε νησί με μεγαλη επιφύλαξη. Φαίνεται να δουλεύει. Σταμάτησα να χρησιμοποιώ γνωστά χημικά εμπορίου για να αφαιρώ τα άλατα από επιφάνειες. Επίσης παρατήρησα οτι ο θερμοσίφωνας ζεσταίνει σε πιο σύντομο χρόνο!
