Applications

How the polyphosphate medium works

The Primato AntiScale Pro uses a food-grade polyphosphate medium, a proven and safe technology widely used in drinking-water treatment to prevent scale and corrosion. Instead of removing hardness minerals like a softener, polyphosphates act through threshold inhibition and sequestration — keeping calcium and magnesium ions in solution so they cannot crystallize and form hard scale on heating elements, pipes, or boiler walls.

The polyphosphate gradually dissolves into the water at a controlled rate, forming a thin, invisible protective layer on metal surfaces. This layer prevents direct contact between the metal and hardness ions, reducing not only scale formation but also corrosion risk. The result is improved energy efficiency, fewer maintenance interventions, and extended lifespan for your boiler and water heater.

Polyphosphate is stable under normal water chlorination levels and fully compliant with EU directives for potable water use. It is safe, non-toxic, and used globally in municipal water treatment and beverage production. The cartridge’s formulation and release rate are optimized to ensure long-lasting protection without affecting water taste or safety.

Replacement & maintenance
