Capabilities of the NanoMetix 10" 0.01μm
The NanoMetix filter uses advanced nanofiltration media capable of removing microscopic contaminants as small as 0.01μm. Unlike standard filters, NanoMetix excels at eliminating emerging pollutants like PFAS and nanoplastics while preserving beneficial minerals in your drinking water.
It has been independently tested according to NSF/ANSI 53 protocols for the reduction of PFAS compounds (PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, etc.), viruses (MS-2), bacteria (Raoultella terrigena), and cysts (polystyrene microspheres). These tests were conducted by IAPMO R&T Labs under controlled conditions.
This makes it ideal for households concerned with chemical and biological contaminants, offering peace of mind through high-performance filtration validated through independent laboratory testing.
Why PFAS matter — and why NanoMetix is your best defense
PFAS, also known as "forever chemicals," are synthetic compounds found in non-stick cookware, food packaging, firefighting foams, and countless industrial applications. They are nearly impossible to break down in the environment or the human body. Studies have linked PFAS exposure to cancer, immune system suppression, hormonal disruption, and developmental issues in children.
The NanoMetix 10" 0.01μm filter has been rigorously tested for PFAS removal and consistently achieves reductions below detection limits. Unlike standard carbon filters that only address PFAS partially, NanoMetix combines advanced nanofiltration with minimal pressure loss, delivering effective and reliable protection for your family’s drinking water — all without removing essential minerals.
1. PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances):
Removal: Below detection limits
Test Lab: IAPMO R&T Labs
Notes: PFAS are highly persistent, man-made chemicals linked to serious health effects including cancer and endocrine disruption.
2. MS-2 Bacteriophage (Virus surrogate):
Reduction: ≥99.99997%
Test Flow Rate Range: 0.5–8.0 LPM
3. Raoultella terrigena (Bacteria):
Reduction: ≥99.99993%
Verified at multiple pressures and flow rates.
4. Cysts (3μm polystyrene microspheres):
Reduction: ≥99.99998%
Tested under NSF/ANSI 53 protocols
NanoMetix OBE 10" – Certified Performance according to EN ISO 14898
The replacement filter NanoMetix OBE has been tested by an accredited laboratory and complies with EN ISO 14898:2006+A1, as well as with the EU Directive 2020/2184 on drinking water (Certificate No.: 112127, Date of Issue: 25/07/2025).
Capacity: 5,680 L, with pressure ~3 bar, flow rate ~4 L/min and temperature ~20 °C during the tests.
Certification Results EN ISO 14898
Chlorine (free, ~1 mg/L): Compliance with the standard requirement (≥90% reduction). High reduction rates recorded throughout the test.
Nitrates (NO3-, ~200 mg/L): Compliance with the standard requirement (≥75% reduction), with indicative reductions of ~91–93%.
Lead (Pb, 100 ppb): Tested at pH 6.5 and pH 8.5 – achieved reduction ≥90%.
Aluminium (Al, 600 ppb): Tested at pH 6.5 and pH 8.5 – very high reduction ≈97–99% and full compliance (requirement ≥70%).
Copper (Cu, 3 mg/L): Complete removal recorded in all stages (requirement ≥80%).
Arsenic (As, 3 mg/L): (not required by EN ISO 14898) – very high reduction ~99% at pH 6.5 & 8.5.
Total Coliforms: Tested with a load 10× higher than the legal limit – no detectable effluent at all stages.
Hydraulic Tests & Pressure Drop
Filter pressure resistance: Tested at 6 bar (maximum operating pressure 4 bar) – no leaks or damage.
Pressure cycles: Tested at 20,000 cycles (1.5→5.2 bar) without failure.
Pressure drop: Indicatively ~0.2–0.6 bar for flows of 2–6 L/min; at maximum operating flow the drop does not exceed manufacturer’s limits.
Final Laboratory Conclusion
“The filter’s performance in removing the tested substances is satisfactory and complies with the limits of EN ISO 14898:2006+A1 and EU Directive 2020/2184.”
Usage reminder: Actual lifetime and performance depend on the quality of the inlet water and usage. Replacement is recommended according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
